SERVICE REQUIREMENT AND EXAMPLES OF SERVICE
"That service is the noblest which is rendered for its own sake."
Mohandas Gandhi
All students are required to complete at least 30 hours of service to our school and community. Your service must be fulfilled in both areas and a minimum of five hours is required for each.
What is service?
Service is providing assistance to benefit the school and/or our community. Your service must be accredited in some way. This means that you need someone (an official person or organization) to confirm your hours of service. A letter on official letterhead is required. It must state what kind of service was completed, the number of hours, as well as the supervisor's contact information.
Service cannot be completed at a family member or neighbor's home, place of work, etc. In other words, tutoring your neighbor's daughter or shoveling their driveway would not meet the service requirement. Although it shows great character, you will have to find other ways to fulfill your hours.
